March 8, 2024: Women’s Welfare Cell, Anti-Ragging/Anti-Discrimination Cell & Anti-Sexual/Anti-Harassment Cell, Kohima College, Kohima, Organised a formal programme in celebration of International Women’s Day 2024. Chaired by student representative Sarah Ezung, the special guest was Ms Moanungla Kevichusa, rtd. HoD, Dept. Of English, Kohima College. Kevichusa in her speech highlighted the responsibility of higher education in taking a “great leap” for female inclusivity.
March 8, 2024: Kohima College students attended the “MykiFest cum International Women’s Day celebration, themed “Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress”, Organised by the Department of Women Resource Development, GoN. Inaugurated by Honourable Minister for Women Resource Development & Horticulture, Smti Salhoutuonuo Kruse; it was held at the Heritage, Old DC Bungalow, Kohima
March 7, 2024: Career Guidance Cell, Kohima College in collaboration with Mahendra Educational Private Limited, Organised a Career Guidance orientation Program on Civil Service Examination Preparation for the 6th Semester students
March 6, 2024: “Young Voters Campaign” organised for Kohima College students by the NSS & NCC, Kohima college units
March 6, 2024: 30 students and 2 teaching faculty from Kohima College, attended the “Consumer Outreach Programme”, Organised by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) at Hotel Japfu today.
2nd March, 2024: The Sports Committee, Kohima College in collaboration with KCSC & Naga Wrestling Association (NWA) organised a wrestling competition for KCK students at Kohima College. The winners were—Niekerhezo Zhunyu (1st), Niengusqzo Ngukha (2nd), Kedose Khoubve (3rd) & Muzaluyi Sazo (4th).
29th Feb, 2024: The virtual inauguration of the new SC Girls Hostel within the newly constructed Kohima College campus, overseen by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, was presided over by Union Minister Dr. Virendra Kumar on the 29th of February 2024
1st March, 2024: Kohima College celebrated its 55th Cultural cum Literary Day 2024. The special guest for the event was Megovono Üsou, HoD, Department of English, Kohima College, who centred her speech on “Cultural Preservation”. The programme witnessed several folk dance & song performances by the students, cowboy flute recital, ethnic show etc. 2 student participants from every academic departments also debated for & against the motion on “Westernisation is a threat to Indigenous Cultures”.
27th Feb, 2024: Department of Political Science attended the 4th Session of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly. This educational trip was organised for the 6th Semester students opting for the Pol. Science Hons Programme. Altogether, 57 students participated along with 8 faculty members. The session itself was extremely informative & an extension of the learning process beyond classroom teaching.
21st Feb, 2024: A Workshop on National Clean Air Programme (NCAP) was conducted at Kohima College, Kohima. This was organised by District Administration Kohima in collaboration with Zub Zub India and Department of Environmental Science and Friends of Nature, Kohima College, Kohima. The main objective of this workshop is to provide awareness on air quality of Nagaland and to engage the community in reducing air pollution, thus improving the air quality.
