A One-Day Workshop on Artificial Intelligence (AI) was held on 15th October 2025 at Kohima College, Kohima under the theme “Introduction to AI in Shaping Tomorrow’s World”. The workshop was organised by ICT Cell, Kohima College Kohima in collaboration with Lovely Professional University (LPU) Punjab, to introduce students to the transformative power of AI, explore its implications in everyday life, and to provide hands-on exposure to AI-based tools and practices. The workshop was attended by 79 students, along with faculty members.

The programme was chaired by Dr. Nutazo Lohe, Assistant Professor in the Department of History, who welcomed the participants and set the context for the day’s discussions. The resource person for the session was Mr. Enjula Uchoi, Assistant Professor, School of Computer Science and Engineering, Lovely Professional University (LPU), Punjab. He began by screening three short videos that effectively illustrated the benefits of being AI-literate, offering a visual and relatable starting point for the participants. Mr. Uchoi highlighted how Generation Z, often referred to as digital natives, are uniquely positioned to adapt to and harness the power of AI. He shared inspirational stories, including that of Alexander Wang, a young entrepreneur who has made a mark in the AI industry, to demonstrate the opportunities available in the field.

The resource person emphasized on the emerging skill of Prompt Engineering, explaining how effectively crafted prompts can greatly improve interaction with AI tools. He introduced the audience to the five essential principles of prompt design, which include:
1. Give Direction
2. Specify Format
3. Provide Examples
4. Evaluate Quality
5. Divide Labour
A key highlight of the workshop was a hands-on training session, during which Mr. Uchoi demonstrated how to create a website using AI tools. This interactive segment gave students practical skills and confidence to experiment with AI technologies beyond the classroom.

The workshop concluded with a lively Q&A session, where students and faculty engaged in discussions with the resource person.
