The Nagaland State Human Rights Commission (NSHRC), in collaboration with the Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA) and Kohima College, organised an awareness programme themed “Human Rights & the Role of Human Rights Commission in its Better Protection”. Chaired by Cherry Ovung, Panel Lawyer, KDLSA, the event aimed to educate the public, particularly young scholars, about Human Rights and the Commission’s role in safeguarding them.
R Nzanbemo Lotha, Hon’ble Member NSHRC, in his welcome address called the NSHRC “Watchdog of Human Rights in Nagaland”. The keynote address was delivered by Justice S. Serto, Hon’ble Chairman, NSHRC. He affirmed NSHRC’s commitment to protecting Human Rights in Nagaland.
This was followed by a panel discussion on “Protection of Human Rights Act 1993” by Adv. Nagali Shohe, Retainer Lawyer NSLDA & “Drug-Trafficking & Human Rights” by Adv. Sunjib Rana, Retainer Lawyer KDLSA. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Ketoukhrieu, Asst. Prof., KCK
