7th-9th October 2024:  Kohima College Sports Meet 2024 held under the theme “Explore, Compete, Conquer”

The Kohima College Sports Meet 2024 was graced by the presence of Smti. Lanusenla Longkumer, CEO of the Kohima Municipal Council, as the special guest.

The event commenced with an invocation by Dr. Pricilla Ezung, Associate Professor. Following her, Shri Ketholelie Terhüja, also an Associate Professor at Kohima College, delivered a salutation, emphasizing the importance of including indigenous games, such as Naga wrestling, to preserve our cultural identity.

In her address, Smti. Lanusenla Longkumer encouraged students to explore the realities of life, asserting that exploration is essential for growth and wisdom. She highlighted that life is a competition and emphasized the necessity of skills and passion for success. Additionally, she stressed the importance of being fit physically, mentally, and emotionally to achieve one’s goals. Smti. Longkumer expressed her hopes for students to excel in both academics and sports, urging them to reach new heights in their pursuits.

The program included an oath-taking ceremony and concluded with a benediction. In support of Indigenous sports, Dr M Libanthung Ngullie, the former principal of Kohima College, presented a cash prize, marking his significant contribution to the event. The special guest donated funds to support the promotion of indigenous sports


13th September 2024: Launch of the Official KCK football Jersey

The official college football jersey of KCK College was ceremoniously unveiled today in a highly anticipated event on the college campus. The unveiling was presided over by the respected Principal of KCK College, Dr. Vitsosie Vupru, who highlighted the significance of the jersey as a symbol of pride, unity, and sporting excellence for the institution.

The newly designed jersey features the official college colours and crest, reflecting the tradition and identity of KCK College. This launch marks an important step in enhancing the visibility and recognition of the college’s football programme, inspiring players and supporters alike for the upcoming season.


7th to 28th September 2024: Kohima College Participates in 24th NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy 2024

Kohima College Football Team participated in the prestigious 24th NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy 2024, organized under the theme “Goal for Peace.” The tournament was held from 7th to 28th September 2024 at IG Stadium, Kohima.

Kohima College began their campaign on a strong note with an impressive 3–1 victory against Halcyon FC in the first round. The team displayed excellent coordination, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the match, earning appreciation from supporters and football enthusiasts.

In the second match, Kohima College faced Khrietho FC, Mereima in a closely contested encounter. After a hard-fought game, the match was decided through a penalty shootout, where Kohima College narrowly lost by 5–6.

Despite the defeat, the team’s spirited performance and participation in the tournament brought pride to the college and reflected the growing football culture among the students.
