UNXT Soft Skills Programme

The UNXT Soft Skills Programme has been launched at Kohima College through a collaboration between the Skill Development Committee and UNXT. The programme is specially designed for 5th Semester students across all departments, with each department undergoing the training in batches.

About the Programme

This initiative equips students with essential soft skills—communication, teamwork, adaptability, and leadership—that complement academic learning and prepare young graduates for both career and life challenges. The programme follows an interactive and activity-based approach to help students grow in confidence, collaboration, and self-awareness.

What You’ll Learn

The training covers a range of skill-building modules that are vital for success in today’s professional and social environments:

Core modules include:

  • Communication Skills – effective speaking, listening, and presentation

Inaugural Session Highlights

The first batch (NL 0070) of the programme began with the 5th Semester students of the Department of Commerce on 15 July 2025, with 28 participants. The session included:

  • A concise introduction to UNXT and the programme’s benefits
  • Self-introductions, fostering openness and engagement
  • An ice-breaking activity in pairs, helping students build closer connections and interpersonal understanding

This session successfully set a positive tone for the upcoming departmental batches by encouraging collaboration, communication, and mutual respect.
