The Department of English, Kohima College, successfully organized an academic and
creative session titled “Exploring Victorian Voices: Dramatic Poetry Interpretation” on 21st
August 2026 in the Conference Hall. Conceptualized and presented by the students of BA 5th Semester, the event sought to bring iconic 19th-century Victorian poetry to life through
theatrical representation.

Students gained deeper insights into Victorian poetic forms, dramatic monologues, and
thematic nuances through direct dramatic engagement.The interactive setup allowed 5th
Semester students to bridge classroom literary theory with creative performance, stage
presence, and public speaking.
