Aug 29, 2026: The Department of Education, D.B.C.K., successfully organised an enriching and thought-provoking programme on the theme “Wisdom of Ancestors: Minds of Tomorrow,” with the active participation of students from D.B.C.K., Kohima College, and Kros College.
The programme focused on the importance of ancestral wisdom, cultural values, traditional knowledge, and heritage in shaping the minds and character of the younger generation. The event provided an opportunity for students to learn from the experiences and wisdom of the past and understand their relevance in the modern world.
The programme commenced with an inaugural session, followed by an address highlighting the significance of preserving traditions, values, and knowledge passed down through generations. The importance of carrying forward the lessons of our ancestors while adapting to the changing needs of the present was emphasised.
A group of five students from Kohima College, led by Ketholielie Terhuja, Associate Professor, Department of Education, actively participated in the programme. Their participation added to the collaborative and educational spirit of the event.
Students from the participating colleges actively contributed to the programme through various folk songs and cultural presentations. These performances reflected the richness and diversity of our cultural heritage and encouraged students to appreciate, respect, and preserve their traditions.
