Aug 31, 2026: A colloquium on “State Finances of Nagaland” and “Public Health Infrastructure and Management of Primary Health Services in Nagaland” was organised by the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India in collaboration with the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), Nagaland Chapter.

The Department of Sociology, Kohima College, Kohima, participated in the programme with 31 students of the 5th Semester along with two faculty members, Dr. Kekhrieseno Christina and Dr. Purlemla Longkumer.

The colloquium provided an important platform for students and faculty to gain insights into the financial management of the state and the existing infrastructure and management of primary health services in Nagaland. The discussions highlighted the significance of effective public finance, proper utilisation of resources, and accessible and efficient healthcare services for the overall development and well-being of the people.

The participation of the students was an enriching academic experience, enabling them to connect sociological perspectives with issues of governance, public finance, healthcare delivery, and social development in the context of Nagaland. The programme also encouraged greater awareness and understanding of contemporary issues concerning the state and its people.
