The Red Cross Society, Kohima College, Kohima in collaboration with City Barn (Guardian Angel), an NGO dedicated to the prevention of HIV/AIDS and STIs among youth, organised an awareness programme for the students of Kohima College, Kohima.
The programme aimed to educate and create awareness about HIV/AIDS through a youth-friendly approach. City Barn (Guardian Angel), which implements various initiatives to prevent the spread of HIV among young people, envisions a youth-enabling environment where education and support can empower the next generation.
The main speaker for the event was Mr. Khekato Chophy, Project Director of City Barn (Guardian Angel). He led an informative session with the students, explaining the impact of HIV, methods of prevention, and the availability of treatment. He emphasized the importance of awareness and early detection, encouraging students to take a proactive role in understanding and addressing the issue.
The session was followed by a voluntary HIV testing drive for the students. Additionally, an interactive session was held with the students.
City Barn continues to serve as a hub for youth engagement, learning, and progress in the fight against HIV in Naga society.
