A delegation from Kohima College, Kohima, comprising 24 students from various academic departments, accompanied by Asst. Professor Aosangla Longkumer (Department of Sociology), attended the Nagaland Digital Entrepreneurship & Startup Fest 2025. The programme was jointly organised by the National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT), Kohima, and the Department of Information Technology & Communication (IT&C), Government of Nagaland.

The event commenced with the inaugural session featuring the presence of distinguished dignitaries, including the Chief Guest, Shri S. Krishnan, IAS, Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India. Students had the opportunity to witness the launch of several key digital initiatives such as the Digital Learning and Simulation Hub, the Digital Delivery of Statutory Services platform, and the Pulse App – an AI-powered NEWS application, among others. These initiatives highlighted the Government’s efforts toward strengthening digital infrastructure and service delivery in Nagaland.

The delegation also participated in the technical session, which included a special address by Prof. (Dr.) Madan Mohan Tripathi, Director General & Vice Chancellor, NIELIT, MeitY. Students engaged with mentor talks on scaling, fundraising, and market access for digital startups, followed by a session titled “Been There, Done That”, where local entrepreneurs shared honest insights into their entrepreneurial journeys. The concluding panel discussion on “Nagaland’s Digital Opportunity – From Labs to Scalable Startups” provided interdisciplinary perspectives relevant to students across different fields of study.

The participation in this programme offered students valuable exposure to current developments in digital innovation, governance, and entrepreneurship in the region. It also enhanced their understanding of the evolving digital ecosystem and encouraged interest in technology-driven career and research opportunities.
