The IQAC & Skill Development Committee, Kohima College funded a cultural troupe of 20 Kohima College students for participating at the North East Graduate Congress 2026, Meghalaya. This year’s North East Graduate Congress was a major three-day youth festival held at the University of Science & Technology Meghalaya (USTM), Meghalaya, bringing together thousands of undergraduate students from across the region. The event featured cultural, literary, and academic competitions with prizes worth nearly ₹50 lakh.

Kohima College students participated in various competitions, including Group Song, Folk Dance, Cultural Showcase, Volleyball, Extempore Speech, Photography, and Reel Making. Khovezo Kapu, 4th Semester, Department of History, Kohima College secured the 1st position in the “Reel Making Competition” & was awarded a cash prize of Rs 10,000/-, certificate & an award plaque, making the college proud. Although no other positions were secured, all participants demonstrated commendable sincerity, commitment, and enthusiasm across the different events.

On the first day of the competition, 12 students took part in the Group Song category, while 8 students participated in the Tug of War (Men). On the second day, the students actively engaged in the Cultural Showcase, where each participant contributed to the promotion and preservation of Naga culture. Additionally, several students participated in individual events such as Extempore Speech, Photography, and Reel Making.
On the third day, 10 students represented the team in the Folk Dance competition. Their performance not only highlighted the rich cultural heritage of the Nagas but also brought recognition and pride to Kohima College, Kohima, as well as to all individuals who took part in the North East Graduate Congress (NEGC) programme.
