22nd April, 2022: Awareness Drive on E-Waste Management
On April 22, 2022, the Friends of Nature (FON) & Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in collaboration with e-Circle, Dimapur organised an e-waste management awareness drive. A total number of 14 students participated. Split into pairs, students were able to visit a total number of 148 households, business establishments, office, etc. along the Billy Graham Road where KCK is located.
Students were able to sensitise & create awareness about e-waste disposal by sharing information about the e-waste disposal bin/ collection point at KCK, & also information about e-circle, Dimapur.

22nd April, 2022: Plantation Drive to commemorate “Earth Day”
On April 22, 2022, the Friends of Nature (FON) & Swachh Bharat Abhiyan organised a plantation drive commemorating “Earth Day”. A total number of 12 students & 4 teachers together planted more than 100 trees around the college campus & the compounds of Goodwill boys’ hostel & UGC girls’ hostel, Kohima College, Kohima. The drive started at 9:00 AM & continued till 2:00 PM with short refreshment break in between.
12th April, 2022: Workshop on E-Waste Management in collaboration with Swachh Bharat Abhiyan & IQAC, Kohima College & e-CIRCLE, Dimapur
A Workshop on E-Waste Management for Kohima College Students’ Council (KCSC) was jointly organised by the Friends of Nature & Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in collaboration with e- CIRCLE, Dimapur & IQAC, KCK on 12th April, 2022. The objective of the workshop was to sensitize the students on E-Waste management. The Resource persons were Ms Bendangwala Walling & Ms Soweteu K Letro , the founders of e- CIRCLE since 2018, an authorised Waste Electrical Electronic Equipment (WEEE) collection centre based in Dimapur. There were four sessions with the following topics:
● What is e-waste? Which or in what condition can an item be termed as E-Waste?
● Life cycle of E-Waste & why it should be managed sustainably?
● E-waste (Management) Amendment rules 2018
● Relationship between different stakeholders & the process of E-Waste management in India
A quiz competition was also conducted after the sessions. Altogether, there were 39 participants including both students & faculty.
(28th February—12th March), 2022: Collection of E-waste
With the awareness created through the e-CIRCLE, an active collection of E-Waste began in the college. An E-waste bin was provided by the e-CIRCLE encouraging students & teachers to deposit their E-waste. A good amount was collected & handed over to the e-CIRCLE by 13th April, 2022.
