15th April, 2025: Edu Fair 2025
The Edu Fair 2025 was organised by the Youthnet on 15th April 2025 at De Oriental Kohima at 12:00 PM. 36 students from 6th semester attended the fair. They could avail wide exposure on opportunities to various academic, skill and career-oriented training and educational institutes from different parts of the country.
March 5, 2025: Seminar on how to prepare for Government Exams
The seminar was organised in collaboration with Mahendra’s, a coaching Institute at 12:30 PM in the College Conference Hall. It was attended by 31 students from 6th semester. Dr. Azhanuo Peki moderated the seminar. Mr. Biswajyoti Dutta, Consultant, Mahendra’s deliberated on the basic steps of preparing for competitive exam. He motivated the students on choosing the right optional papers and how to manage reading materials and time.
March 3, 2025: Webinar on Young India Fellowship Proposal
A webinar on Young India Fellowship Proposal was organised with interested students of 6th semester on 3rd March 2025at 6:00 PM. 52 students attended the webinar. The resource person Anuja Sinha Chowdhury, Manager, YIF Office of Outreach and Admissions shared about the fellowship as the Ashoka University’s flagship programme and that it is designed to build and nurture a lifelong learning community where innovative perspectives, skills, and opportunities empower individuals to shape a better world. Two beneficiaries of the fellowship namely Tiapong Tzudir and Serene George shared about their journey and beneficial experiences with the fellowship.
October 21, 2024: Miss Kohima 2024 hosted by Kohima College, Organised by 4Front Event Management in collaboration with Career Guidance & Placement Cell, Kohima College
The Committee coordinated with 4Front Event Management in organizing the Miss Kohima at Kohima College on 21st October 2024. Dr. Azhanuo Peki, member, Career Guidance & Placement Cell KCK was the Coordinator from KCK and Dr. Theyiesinuo Keditsu was a judge. Three students i.e. Khrielhouvono Kitshu, Litoli Kiho and Rovinguno Nakhro from KCK contested in the beauty pageant. It was the first time that Kohima College hosted Miss Kohima.
April 3, 2024: Workshop on CV/Resume & Job Application Skills
The Cell organised the workshop in collaboration with Digital 112, a creative agency based in Dimapur with a diverse range of services. on 3rd April 2024 at 2:00PM in the College Conference Hall. Students from 6th semester attended the workshop. A representative from the agency enlightened the students on the importance of a good resume and how to write it.
March 7, 2024: Seminar on Preparation for Competitive Examination
The Cell organised a seminar on preparation for competitive examination in collaboration with Mahendra’s, a coaching institute on competitive examination on 7th March 2024 at 1:00 PM in the conference hall. Ase Yalie, the Convenor of the Cell chaired the seminar. Mr. Biswajyoti Dutta, Consultant, Mahendra’s was the resource person. He encouraged the students to prepare in the right way by following some important steps while attempting competitive examinations. 97 students participated in the seminar.
March 19, 2024: Workshop on Indigenous Knowledge & Practice
The Cell organised the workshop as a part of the Village Adoption Committee 14th Southern Angami under the District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) Kohima in Jakhama Village on 19th March 2024 at 10:00 AM in the Village Council Hall. Dr. Keduolhoulie Belho chaired the program. Shri. Nockpai Konyak SDO (C) Jakhama gave the opening speech. Dr. Theyiesinuo Keditsu as the resource person stressed on the need and importance of indigenous knowledge and practices related to edible vegetables, herbal medicines, traditional ways of conserving seeds etc. Ase Yalie delivered the vote of thanks. 52 women from the village attended the workshop.
October 18, 2023: Counselling and Scouting Session for Modelling and Pageantry
A counselling and scouting session was conducted for one day on 18th October 2023 in the College Conference Hall in collaboration with Novaturient Management, the official organisers of Miss Kohima for students interested in the field. 12 students joined the session. The students were trained in etiquettes, presentation, beauty and aesthetics.
October 12, 2023: Kaam Kotha, Talking about Work
In collaboration with the Lungleng Show, a panel discussion on the theme “Careers in Sports and Fitness” was organised on 12th October 2023 at 11:00 AM in the college multi- purpose building. The three panelists were Ms. Talienla Pongen, PAWF, Nagaland, Dr. Viposa Kisao, Sports Ministry Leader, Founding Director, Ge ThemGo Sports and Mr. Vethozo Lohe, IAF World Champion, Gold Medallist. The discussion was moderated by Mr. Ransom Lungleng of the Lungleng Show. The event was attended by 120 students. Discussions on various career prospects in sports were held allowing the students to hear from various professionals, interact with them and explore possibilities of internships and employment.
15th September 2023: Free Grooming Workshop on Career as Cabin Crew
In collaboration with Frankfinn Institute of Air Hostess Training, Guwahati, the Cell organised a free grooming workshop on cabin crews on 15th September 2023 in the college Multipurpose building at 10:00 AM. Ase Yalie, the Convenor of the Cell chaired and welcomed the students and introduced the resource persons. Anindita Borgohain, the Center Sales Manager highlighted the avenues and opportunities of serving in the field of tourism as cabin crews. The visiting 3 representatives shared about their experiences as airhostesses and demonstrated some basic and essential tips on grooming over 4 students. 145 students participated in the workshop.
