The PG Second Semester students of Kohima College organised the 1st Parting Social under the theme “Beyond Goodbye” on 11th May 2026 at 10:00 A.M for the PG Fourth Semester outgoing batch (2024-26) in the Conference Hall, Kohima College, Kohima. The programme was organised to bid a heartfelt farewell to the outgoing students and to celebrate the bonds, memories, and experiences shared throughout their academic journey.

The Formal Session was chaired by Mr. Lumlang Lating. The programme commenced with an invocation prayer pronounced by Dr. Ketoukhrieü, Assistant Professor and IQAC Coordinator, Kohima College, Kohima. This was followed by the address of Dr. Vitsosie Vupru, Principal, Kohima College, Kohima who congratulated both the students and teachers for their hard work, dedication, and achievements. In the address, the Principal highlighted that college life is a place where talents are discovered and dreams begin to take shape. He laid emphasis on the importance of discipline, creativity, and academic excellence, along with values such as humility, good character, and the courage to face life’s challenges. The outgoing students were encouraged to move forward with confidence, honesty, and determination as they step into a new phase of life. The Principal further appreciated the students for successfully organising the programme and conveyed best wishes to all the students for their upcoming examinations.

A speech on behalf of the junior students was delivered by Mr. Veluta Venuh, who expressed appreciation and conveyed warm wishes to the outgoing batch. Adding grace to the occasion, the M.A. 4th Semester students of the Political Science Department presented a special song that evoked deep emotions among the audience. Further, speeches on behalf of the outgoing students were delivered by Ninen Kath and Kaitom Phom, who shared their experiences, cherished memories, and heartfelt gratitude towards the teachers and fellow students for their constant support, mentorship and companionship throughout their years in the college.

The Informal Session was chaired by Ruokuotuonuo Rio and featured a variety of entertaining and engaging activities. The audience was delighted by a special appearance from Shaky Shaky and a melodious musical performance by Shakum Phom. The open stage segment witnessed lively performances and moving speeches by both students and faculty. Dr. Eunice Alinger, PG Coordinator of the Department of History encouraged the students to always lead an honest and ethical life as they embark on their future journeys. She further urged them to remain closely connected with the KCK family, to cherish their bond with the institution, and to contribute meaningfully towards its continued growth and upliftment.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Sahara, followed by a sumptuous lunch prepared by the students. A special video presentation was also screened during lunch adding warmth and nostalgia to the occasion. The 1st Parting Social programme was a meaningful and memorable occasion that beautifully celebrated friendship, gratitude, and new beginnings. The event not only honoured the outgoing students but also strengthened the bond among the students and faculty.
