June 19, 2026: An HIV/AIDS Awareness Programme was conducted on 19 June 2026 by the Primary Health Centre (PHC), Kohima Village, in collaboration with the Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS) and the Red Ribbon Club, Kohima College.
The programme was chaired by Mr. Wati Longkumer, a 5th Semester student. The welcome address was delivered by Ms. Shonron, Family Welfare Assistant, Department of Health and Family Welfare.
The resource persons for the programme were Dr. Khriesino, Medical Officer, Primary Health Centre, Kohima Village, who shared accurate information on HIV/AIDS, and Ms. Veronica Nriane, Psychiatric Social Worker, District Mental Health Programme, Naga Hospital Authority Kohima, who spoke on stigma and mental health issues related to HIV/AIDS.
The programme was attended by students of the 5th Semester Political Science Department. The interactive session that followed provided students with an opportunity to engage with the resource persons and clarify their doubts.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Viserenuo Theunuo, Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology.
