The Departments of Sociology and Education at Kohima College, Kohima (KCK), jointly organised an insightful session on “Configuring Mental and Spiritual Health” for the 1st and 5th semester students of both departments. The programme was held at the KCK Conference Hall and comprised two interactive sessions: the first from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM and the second from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
The resource person was Fr. Vilezo George Meze, SJ, an esteemed EdD Scholar in Interdisciplinary Leadership from Creighton University, USA. In his address, Fr. Meze delivered a profound talk, emphasizing that human beings are not merely physical bodies but spiritual entities. He highlighted the critical importance of mental health and spiritual well-being, offering practical motivation not only to handle academic stress but also to draw meaningful life lessons that help students navigate personal challenges, build resilience, and grow holistically. The sessions were highly interactive, encouraging students to ask questions, share their concerns, and engage in open discussions, which made the experience more enriching and relatable.
The programme was efficiently chaired by Ms. Viserenuo Theunuo, Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology, and concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Vikokhotuo Krose, bringing the enlightening event to a successful close.
