June 17, 2025: Kohima College, Kohima organized its Orientation Programme for the academic session 2025 with great enthusiasm and formality to welcome the new batch of students. The event served as a platform to introduce the students to the college’s academic environment, faculty, and code of conduct.
The programme was chaired by Dr. Limayangla Pongener, Asst.prof and Member, IQAC. This was followed by the singing of the Kohima College Anthem, instilling a sense of pride and belonging.
The Principal, Dr. Vitsosie Vupru, delivered the welcome address and warmly greeted the incoming students. He emphasized the college’s commitment to academic excellence, holistic development, and student welfare. Dr. Vupru also introduced the Heads of Departments (HODs), helping students become familiar with key faculty members who will guide them through their academic journey.
Dr. Prescilla Ezong, Assoc. Prof and Member, Students Welfare Committee, briefed the students on the college’s rules and regulations, importance of discipline, responsibility, and respect in maintaining a conducive learning environment.
An academic orientation on the Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUGP) was conducted by Dr. Ketoukhrie-ü, Asst. Prof and Coordinator of IQAC. She provided valuable insights into the structure, objectives, and opportunities embedded within the FYUGP, encouraging students to make the most of their academic years.
The programme concluded with a dedicatory prayer led by Smti. Dorothy Swüro, Assoc. Professor and Head of the Department of Education, seeking divine guidance and blessings for the students as they begin a new chapter in their lives.
This was followed by a departmental orientation session conducted in the classroom.
