Sept 25, 2026: The Skill Development Committee of Kohima College, Kohima, organised a panel discussion on “Entrepreneurship Skills & Business Strategies” at the college campus. The event brought together distinguished entrepreneurs and creators from Nagaland to share their experiences and insights with the students.
The panel comprised four accomplished entrepreneurs: Imtisunep Longchar, Co-founder of ILANDO.COM; Thejasevi Putsure, Co-founder of Premium Naga Organic; Loni Khing, Pastry Chef and Co-founder of Naga Bowl Bakery; and Jonathan Tseibu Rutsa, Host and Creator of the “My Dad’s Office” podcast. The event was hosted by Deuyihangle, a 5th Semester student of the Department of Sociology, and Mhalezolie Kuotsu, a 3rd Semester student of the Department of Political Science.
The programme began with a welcome note delivered by Dr. Konei Nakhro, Convenor of the Skill Development Cell. Principal Vitsosie Vupru’s address emphasised the importance of becoming a success & contributing to society. He advised students to draw inspiration from the Viksit Bharat initiative.
One of the panellists discussed his journey of working with farmers, describing it as “not easy, but interesting.” He candidly shared that it was a matter of survival and remarked that the pandemic turned out to be a blessing in disguise, as it prompted his decision to return to his roots.
The discussion highlighted the importance of employing Naga youths and providing them with skills to become professionals. The panelists emphasised that entrepreneurship is fundamentally about creativity — the ability to see value in something where others might not.
The panelists shared several key attributes essential for entrepreneurial success, including humility, taking feedback, building skills consistently, discipline, and the willingness to learn again. They stressed that skilling is important and that one needs to have clarity in life — being clear about what one wants, as that clarity builds the foundation to make the best of every opportunity.
The interactive session that followed the panel discussion focused on the significance & the growing need of social media marketing. This engagement also highlighted agriculture as a promising product in Nagaland. Student participants were encouraged to view “experience as an asset” & to recognise networking in building entrepreneurial opportunities.
This event provided students with valuable insights into the realities of entrepreneurship, the importance of skilling & the mindset required to succeed in business.
