Züb Züb India observed World Environment Day with an event titled Wild Wild Waste on the theme “Ending Plastic Pollution globally”
The interns from Kohima College, Kohima assisted in organising and setting up the event.
On this day Züb Züb team brought people’s donations of clothes, shoes, utensils and many other items. The event featured items made from recyclable materials like plastic woven door mats, plastic bags, seed balls and many more items.
Students from different Govt. Schools participated in the event where they were briefed on recyclable and reusable wastes and was introduced to the seed balls.
The interns from Kohima college led the students in going around the town, from store to store collecting recyclable wastes in and even from passersby in exchange for seed balls.
After the collection, the students exchange their plastic wastes for various items like clothes, shoes, musical instruments, books etc. depending on the amount of waste they brought back.
The event ended with interns distributing some seed balls to people in the streets. The Züb Züb team also gifted clothes and shoes to homeless person in and around town.
The interns and the Züb Züb team tidied up the venue and donated the remaining clothes to children in need of it and the wastes were disposed off properly.
